You might remember our spring onion / green onion / shallots gardening experiments.
Four months on and they’re doing marvellously.
The last bunch I just shoved straight into the soil and they grew equally as quickly and probably better than those rooted in water.
It will be interesting to see how they survive the colder months – almost everything else in the garden is very much winding down (gosh! don’t even talk to me about that mint experiment – Don’s the clear winner there!), but these are still going strong.
Definitely a success.
The next outing will be to try to keep the very sad looking parsley and basil alive through the winter because we simply cannot cook without them.
