When I saw the fire engines scream past I thought nothing of it – because there are always fire engines screaming past on their way to reset smoke alarms (apart from the amusement I always have at the fire engine names – “super pumper one” is my fave), but now there is an ambulance and an ambulance SUV a wee way up the road which doesn’t bode terribly well at all.

emergency vehicles have departed – much more quietly than they arrived.
