Dfkan, as part of her christmas giftage, recieved the book of (her idol) Jonathan Adler and this evening mentioned that, as a child, M. Adler’s brother had a hanging egg chair which the wee Jonathan coveted it madly (he was not permitted to even sit in it).
This resonated greatly, ever since I was about 10 years old, I’ve desperately wanted a hanging egg chair. I think it must be a generational thing.
I was speaking of my deep and abiding love for the aforesaid chairs, and Don casually says, “oh we have those at work”.
At work! If I worked there, I would never leave the hanging egg chairs.
Damn you, EasternSuburbsPowerDrinkersInc for your cool office furniture.
I wanted an egg chair too, when I went through my 70’s phase when I was 9.>>I really used to worry my parents… đŸ˜€
I’m glad you provided a link because there were some weird images going through my mind as it grappled with the concept of a “hanging egge chair”. So that’s what those things are called.
Of course, I really covet some shag pile carpet and lots of ferns too!(I went through my 70’s phase in the 70’s)
