After much (well, okay some) consideration, in no particular order (despite the ordered lists):
8 Things I Am Passionate About
- My babies
- Don
- The view from my balcony
- Food
- Music (and dancing about my house)
- The detective/crime genre (books, dvds, I care not what medium)
- Baking (desserts and cakes and roasts and traditional anglo things and such)
- Learning (anything, I adore to learn stuff)
8 Things I Want to Do Before I Die
- Live well
- Own a boat (just a wee one, even a canoe would do)
- Travel regularly (and lots! and I don’t care where!)
- See my babies do well
- Buy lots of art (sculpture mostly)
- Own an awesome collection of mid century modern furniture
- Have my portrait painted (or be sculpted)
- Learn to play the guitar
8 Things I Say Often
- “Ohmigod….”
- “[list of things]….and such”
- “Totally!”
- “I can’t believe … well, I can believe, I really should stop saying I can’t believe things when I totally can believe them, anyway…”
- “I’m going to Italy!”
- “Awesome!” (often 3 and 6 are combined)
- “Ummmmmmm…….I have no idea what I was going to say.”
- “Holy Crap!”
8 Books I’ve Read Recently
- Scales of Justice Ngaio Marsh
- Vintage Murder Ngaio Marsh
- Nursing Home Murder Ngaio Marsh
- Artists in Crime Ngaio Marsh
- Death in a White Tie Ngaio Marsh
- Clutch of Constables Ngaio Marsh
- Death and the Dancing Footman Ngaio Marsh
- A Man Lay Dead Ngaio Marsh
Can we sense a theme here? When I get into an author, I really get into an author.
8 Songs I Could Listen to Over and Over
- City Middle The National
- Goodnight Lover Fluke
- Deuce Lenny Kravitz (cover of the Kiss song)
- Watch out for me Ronnie Yo La Tengo
- 10-4 Antenna
- Part One Band of Horses
- Room 410 The Wonder Stuff
- Rubber Ring The Smiths
I had rather a lot of trouble limiting it to 8 – these were just totally off the top of my head. In fact, I think a quite good blog project would be listing 64(82) songs I could (and have) listen(ed) to over and over.
8 Things that Attract Me to My Best Friends
- complete fabulousness
- intelligence
- bitchiness
- humour
- fashion-loving
- arts-loving
- gossip-loving
- flawed (in some way)
8 People Who Should Totally Do This Meme
Listed here, after a fashion. Off you go….
Goodness, that was harrowing.
If you’re into that stuff, yes! I’m rather adoring it.13 books down, 19 to go!
Oh Jano! I like yours much better than mine – I do so want to appropriate some of your things for my list/s.
So… is Ngaio Marsh good then?>đŸ™‚
Harrowing indeed. < HREF="http://sidetalk.wordpress.com/2007/11/23/8-things/" REL="nofollow">There you go!<>.
Cellobella, Nagaio Marsh is da bomb. Hey, Kev just said “prosecute that agenda” so I guess it’s okay for me to talk like a dickhead as well.>>Anyway…will do list.
Oh and Scales of Justice – how good is that book??
I’m liking her so much better than Agatha Christie. I really like how her style evolves from the 30’s to the 70’s. I think the later novels (say post-1950) are infinitely improved, but still quite like the 30’s ones – particularly I love the slang (I really need to adopt it for every day use). And, yes, Scales of Justice was rather awesome.
Nice blog. I will keep reading. Please take the time to visit my blog about < HREF="http://wickes--furniture.blogspot.com " REL="nofollow" TITLE="Wickes Furniture">Wickes Furniture<>
