There is a dearth of non-hideous kitty furniture out in the world, so when the kitties were in need of another scratcher, I decided to make one myself.

I took a doormat, cardboard cat scratcher, a length of pine and some bolts and whipped one up yesterday afternoon!

Basically it is a simple triangle with scratchy bits on each side and a wee mouse hanging off the side. I bought the materials about 6 weeks ago, but in what seems to be a bit of a theme, I avoided starting – while I did not a lot in particular.

It’s a hit! Thought I do need to add a wide base because it can get a bit tippy.

Next I’m thinking climbing tree.
