here was the very scent of deepacres, of the scented oil lady charles burnt in the drawing-room, of turkish cigarettes, of cut flowers and of moss.

I believe we may finally have an accessible shower at some point tomorrow.

Current view of the bathroom.

Fortunately the chemical stench has subsided a great deal.

In the interim, we have been showering elsewhere. Until now, I had not realised how much I really do enjoy showering in the morning. I really, really, really, really enjoy showering in the morning.

The upside is that the bath is sparkling! So sparkling, you could almost see your reflection in it.

If only one never had to clean it and just had it re-surfaced every so-often…

And the never as good as the hardy boys titles project continues … Surfeit of Lampreys Ngaio Marsh p.37 (my favourite novel title, I think).

  1. oh, nice shiny bath! I couldn’t stand to have my shower out of action, I htink I would go quite mad. Completely off topic, just so you know for future reference – the EEEPC is not fabulous for web browsing, the teeny screen doesn’t hold much of the page and it takes quite a bit of getting used to, especially when you are switching between a 19″ monitor, a 16″ laptop and the 7″! My fingers are, however becoming more adept by the moment at using the teeny little keyboard!

  2. Hmmm … I have no idea what I’ll do with the eeepc when Joe/Frank gets his school laptop, given that I’ll be getting my shiny new white iphone (!) (hopefully) next week. Wait until you see the typing from that!We are loving the clean, sparkly shower! Re-finishing boy was Very Enthusiastic and has sprayed the plug hole white too.

  3. I’m absolutely loving the EEEPC at the moment, it’s just so handy – pull it out of the sleeve, turn it on and away you go. I keep using it, so it can’t be too difficult for the internets!
