happy mardi gras

Much to my delight, Joe/Frank expressed interest in attending the parade this evening. We didn’t attend – primarily because the thought of standing on 5 stacked milk-crates does not fill me with joy (and the crowds – ugh!). But I am totally joyous that I have a 14 year old boy who is not a homophobic jerk (yay me! and yay! his other parental units).

For the past couple of weeks/months, I’ve been reading the blogs over there <– through google reader. One of the more delightful features is the "recommended blogs". I'm not sure how the algorithm works, but I have discovered many way cool blogs through this feature, which I would not have ordinarily found (and many quite ghastly ones, which have made me quite perplexed as to *why* on earth they were recommended).

Anyway, I have been pretty slack about adding the good ones over there <–. I guess because I have been reading through the reader, I tend to really ignore the blog itself (although of course I invariably respond terribly late to comments – long after the commenter has forgotten they have commented).

So, go read these, they are quite excellent:

mid century modernist

reference library

etsy love

daily danny

cook & eat

design*sponge

hoping for happy accidents

re-nest

Next stop, spend some time adding them to the sidebar…
