ready to dunk

My completed Melodia shawl before blocking.

It’s headed for the bath tomorrow. Hopefully it retains its amazing softness and texture.

I added a chunk of additional rows to ensure I used as much yarn as possible. I think this was a good and sensible thing to do, rather than having the remainder
of the ball hanging about. While I’ve seen some wonderful projects made with random leftover yarn. I am realistic enough to know that I am unlikely to complete such a project.

Despite the additions, still not quite as epic as my last shawl!

Will report back.

a weekend visitor

Very exciting as I’ve not spied a Magpie on the top balcony before.

The birdbath was an excellent purchase and is pretty well frequented, but mostly by Indian Mynahs and the occasional Spotted Dove.

I’m inclined to get an additional one because it is apparently going to be a scorching summer – and I like the visits from wildlife and watching them splash about!

Honestly, this very basic language learning is completely exhausting me.

And I am honestly astonished at how my brain will just stop functioning if it has taken in too much new information.

Maybe it is like physical exercise and my very dormant thinking muscles will improve their capacity and stamina with use?

This has to be good for me, right?

The visit to the dentist was quite a bit less terrible than my last crown adventure, but once the anaesthetic wore off in the afternoon I was a bit sore and sorry for myself.

I was greatly cheered by ibuprofen and a nourishing zoom chat with Excellent Imaginary Internet Now Real Life Friend Carmen. She was taking the afternoon off to travel to another city to see art. This is an infinitely better use of time than using a day off for the dentist I think.
