After the wild success of my Morning Pages experiment (where wild success = actually writing the morning pages), I’m inclined to have a crack at more small experiments.
So I’m kicking off a month of perfectionless and under-thinking daily blogging.
I’m writing this on my phone, from the airport lounge (see aforementioned perfectionlessness). We’re off to exotic locales for a little bit. I love the lounge, though it has become pretty shabby and down at heel. But the people watching is superb. I adore watching the interactions, speculating relationships and professions, judging the breakfast wines, appreciating flight-wear choices, assessing people’s net worth, eavesdropping – everything!
When I read the extracts of Alan Rickman’s diaries in The Guardian there was absolutely no way I was not going to buy the book. I’d not intended to save it for the trip, but stars aligned.
Will report back.
Oh, yay for daily blogging! I look forward to it! Thanks for the Rickman book link. MUST read it now.
Have a great hol.
Hello! Hopefully this will inspire you to dust off your blog (or start a new one). I’m wildly interested in what you’ve been up to!
Ha! I logged on to WordPress recently to start a new one then got all overwhelmed. I think your new approach of writing every day is the way to do it. Am hoping I’ll get over my overwhelm soon!
I’m not sure if you read hulaseventy, but her write for 17 minutes post gave me the boost that I didn’t know I needed (but obviously did) to get out of my own way .
Also I am a little bit intrigued by the idea of new digs, fresh start – there’s quite a lot of clutter after 18+ years – but I’ll see if I make it through the month!
You can do it!
hello friend! I know you have foresworn twitter, but the daily exodus there and my own retreat to mastodon reminds me of the pleasure of old school blogging so what a delight to find you in my reader. I hope you have a lovely mini break and look forward to your musings.
<3 <3
I have been lurking on mastodon since the weekend and this is almost exactly what I said to Don! Such an old-school blogging / early twitter vibe. It's just so earnest and charming and delightful!
Where are you there? I will join you!
Of course I have been dithering about joining and paralysed about what instance to join. It seems like such an important decision – even though it probably isn't anything of the sort! So I need a kick in the right direction.
