wcoic 2014 : day three : uk

Lately, I’ve been keen to make a fish pie because I am the only person in the haushold to have eaten one before, so wcoic seemed the perfect opportunity to give it a go.

We’d been out watching the ducks achieve a victorious victory over Port Adelaide in the afternoon, so dinner was quite a bit later than I anticipated. I should have realised that it was going to take a while upon reading the recipe, especially because there were a few processes and it was new, but alas …

We all were huge fans of this, brilliant comfort food – definitely would make again. Possibly halving the recipe because I’m not entirely sure how it will back-up as leftovers. We only used flathead because I was careless in my recipe reading and I think it would be improved with the mix of fish called for. I also skipped the tarragon and chervil, would include next time (if I actually can find chervil).

Joan telephoned at 7am(!) to tell me about soccer. Ajax has turned her into a football tragic.
